Women empowerment — women having the power of choice, the freedom to do or not to do — has never been stronger worldwide with international agencies, governments and multinationals championing gender equality and diversity. Yet, it is both disproportionate and complicated, especially for women at the bottom of the pyramid (BoP). With the unorganised and agricultural sectors employing over 60 per cent of the women workforce in India, access, education, security and even survival are challenges they face each day.
